This is perfect for me, as I've been a lazy 'old-lady-games' person for decades - you know, mahjonng/card solitaire/Bejeweled, etc.

This game gets me more familiar with using the keyboard to control the action. Experienced gamers, no. Newbies who're finally realizing what they've been missing all these years: YES! My BF thinks it's hilarious to see me playing this game - he hopes this will help me live more than 45 seconds in Unreal Tournament (I do a lot of cussin' while playing that game, due to my 'D-OH!' Thanks for the game, GAOTD!

I am glad to see this game and more that are tailored for children.

Maybe we all don't play this game but it is great to have for my friends' children when they come over. Thank you GAOTD for giving us some variety. I really enjoy the relaxing part of games, and find I get too uptight after a few of the intense shooting games. Epson Stylus C92 Drivers Windows 7 there.

I enjoy them but not all the time. I really enjoy the combination puzzle/thinking/logical games at night, plus it is good for the brain. After a day on the computer working, it is good to give tired hands a break. It was also very nice to give this full game on Easter.I think an RIPish game - (Decent into the Ascension) - wouldn't have been appropriate today! The programmer's description wasn't very informative at all, it wasn't even clear that this is a platform game. Very beautiful graphics and it's nice that no episodes are locked. All are open right from the beginning so it's like 26 mini games all in one instead of having to complete episodes in order before trying others.

I think this episode approach is much better for kids than defined levels that must be passed before they can proceed. They never get themselves in a spot where they have to keep repeating the same frustrating level over and over. Instead they can just move on to a new episode and try the difficult one later.

Keyboard controls work fine, it just takes some getting used to, especially when trying to get a character up a flight of stairs. Instructions in How to Play doesn't explain controls, instead go to Options and page down with arrow keys and there will be a clear explanation at the bottom of the screen for each. Controls can also be edited from this screen and the game accepts a gamepad if preferred over the keyboard. Moving platforms work differently than most platform games. They move the character up and down like most platform games but also serve as transporters to other parts of the map in each episode.

You can also move to other parts by moving off the side like a side scroller. Whatever way you move thorough the map start firing right away as soon as in a new area, enemies are usually right at the beginning of each screen. Using the tab key to view the map helps a lot to know where you are and how much area still needs to be covered. #13 I wasn't into platform games of any type till the GGAotD gave us Brave Dwarves Back for Treasure and Brave dwarves 2 in the first month of the Game giveaways inception. The second one was a big improvement on the first game, graphically.

I lost both of these following a format of my main system. My children and all their friends thought the game was fabulous, so to get the deluxe edition is fantastic. The main difference between the deluxe and the non deluxe edition is that you have all 26 episodes as opposed to 8 episodes. The first 8 are repeated from the Brave Dwarves 2 game. The game also has more themes and even a brave dwarves slot machine. (Maybe you don't want to push your kids into the gambling thread; however I used to love slots as a child. Most of my holiday money was spent on them and I don't regret it one iota; it taught me not to be foolish with my money and at 50 I've never been into a casino or a betting shop in my life.:) The graphics are very well made, there’s enough sparkle and collectables to keep the greediest of kids happy.:D There’s a wide selection of music that fits well with the Dwarves theme.

Not too overpowering and you also have the ability to turn the music right down to 0 if you wish. There’s the ability to lock the game using a parent switch and you can also use a game pad as opposed to the keyboard. The aim of each episode is to collect all the keys and then defeat the boss. This is a must have for the family. You’ll find a ‘How to play section that tells you what all the collectables/power-ups do, and when you need a rest or have other more important matters to attend to you can save the game till another appropriate moment. I know what my kids will be doing when they get back from their exploration of Dove dale in Derbyshire, UK.:D This version has been recently updated (January 2007) For those who like to cheat, (like my son) there’s some cheat codes available; all you have to do is type one of the words below while in game to activate the cheat; ensuring it’s written exactly as indicated below: giveallkeys.this will take you to the end of the level where the only task you have to do is defeat the boss givemoney givemap givecompass I give this an 8 out of 10 for playability and fun. Thank you GameOver Games and the GGAotD team for a fantastic giveaway.:):):).

Thank you GameOver Games and the GGAotD team for a fantastic giveaway.:):):) . I just purchased this game, via Real Arcade, for the grandkids! Actually, the game has been a hit around here. In play, there are two dwarves, each with different weapons. It's up to you to figure out which will be the most efficient for each level.

The level of challenge depends upon your choice of dwarf and weapon. Along the way, your brave little dwarf will be collecting brightly colored jewels and coins while keeping a wary eye out for wily characters. The challenges facing the dwarves may not cost a life. Sometimes they just cost money.lots of money!

Not to worry. There is a slot machine in the armory! Some of the levels have hidden challenges and rewards that may take a couple of rounds to discover. The dwarves could be exploring forests with mutant bugs, abandoned mines with creaking timbers and all sorts of surprises, eerie castles complete with ghosts and skeletal archers, rivers and underwater caves (watch out for those fish!), snow-covered villages or several combinations of each. You have the ability to save the game mid-level!

Better yet, all of the loot you acquire on one adventure can be carried over to the next. Each level has a boss to challenge. Good luck with those!

Post your accumulated score on the 'net and compare to others. Brave Dwarves is a welcome change from bloody shoot-em-up games.

30th October 2014 § As today, there used to be in various languages. Yesterday for the kind of reasons that only Wikipedians have ( It is mostly comprised of nonsense phrases thought up by people who apparently find this sort of thing terribly clever). Pangrams are words or sentences containing every letter of the alphabet at least once; the best known English example being A quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. As well as containing some rather amusing gems, the pangrams in languages other than English can be occasionally useful for designers of all sorts.

For that reason I have resurrected the page of pangrams here, pretty much as it was in Wikipedia.
